Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun (Japanese: 月刊少女野崎くん Hepburn: Gekkan Shōjo Nozaki-kun) is a Japanese four-panel romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Izumi Tsubaki. The chapters are serialized online in Gangan Online and have been published in both physical and digital releases of Shoujo Romance Girly and tankōbon volumes by Square Enix. An anime miniseries adaptation by Doga Kobo aired in July 2014.High school student Chiyo Sakura has a crush on schoolmate Umetarou Nozaki. When she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. When she says she wants to be with him, he invites her to his house and has her help on some drawings.
Sakura discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shōjo manga artist working under the pen name Sakiko Yumeno. She agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him. As they work on his manga Let’s Fall in Love (恋しよっ Koi Shiyo, Let’s Have a Romance),they encounter other schoolmates who assist them and/or serve as inspirations for his stories. The plot revolves around a manga artist named Umetarou Nozaki who has published a series, “Let’s Fall in Love” under the name of Yumeno Sakiko.
Chiyo Sakura attempts a confession of love at him, resulting in her saying that she was his ‘fan’, which he interprets her being a fan of his manga and makes her assist him with his manga by doing the beta. She becomes an assistant of his, along with Hirotaka Wakamatsu while discovering his other current assistants, Mikoto Mikoshiba and Masayuki Hori. Additionally, the series also focuses on Nozaki’s attempts at relationship development for his manga between his characters, Saburou Suzuki and Mamiko, Oze and Waka.
